Nick Santillan
Producer/Engineer/DJ wunderkind Nick Santillan is one of Chicago's best-kept secrets. He has amazed and surpassed his peers in the Windy City on many occasions. As a DJ for only 3 and a half years, Nick has held down a 2 and a half year residency at Chicago's underground hot spot Lava Lounge on Saturday nights and does a once a month residency at Lava Lounge Cincinnati on Saturday nights for one year now. He also runs Inca Studio Inc. where he does his own work, serves as Logic engineer to Gene Farris & Tommie Sunshine doing mixes for major artists such as Felix da Housecat and Elvis Presley and labels such as Ministry of Sound, Ladomat, Universal UK, Atlantic, Epic, City Rockers and spinART. He also works with session players such as Keith Henderson (who works with Maurice Joshua, E-Smoove, and R. Kelley) on guitar, Ron Hall (who works with Maurice Joshua, E-Smoove and R. Kelley) on bass, Bill Dickens (who works with Byron Stingily) on bass, and Elmer Brown (of Earth, Wind & Fire) on trumpet. He cites Moulton Studio's J-Jay, Loveslap's Charles Spencer, and "Little" Louie Vega & Kenny Dope's MAW productions as his major studio influences and name checks Gene Farris, Mark Grant, Mauricio Aviles and "Little" Louie Vega as his spinning inspirations.
