Lauren Hildebrandt - Hildy
Lauren Hildebrandt, (affectionately known as Hildy), is one of the true triple threats in the entertainment business. Shes a gifted actress, a sensational dancer, and a powerhouse singer.
In summer 2005, Lauren released her debut single Burnin Out. This dance song showcases her impressive vocal range, while at the same time provides a platform for her to tantalize audiences with her astounding dance moves . It was so well received, that in August 2005 it reached #5 on the Billboard Dance Club Chart, (a feat not reached by many inaugural projects). Further, her CD was the #1 seller at dance musics premier store Pefect Beat in the month of September. And is currently available for purchase at both Tower Records, Virgin Records and on I-Tunes.
Following the success of her single, Lauren introduced a world class video of Burnin Out, which was filmed at West Hollywoods famous I-Candy club. It was directed by Patricio Ginelsa, who shot the Apl video for The Black Eyed Peas.
The video truly showcases Laurens talent as both a singer and dancer, and is currently in heavy rotation in dance clubs across the country. And even more impressive, the video is currently being played on MTV2, and is being featured along with major artists like The Black Eyed Peas and Madonna.
Lauren has supported this initial success by touring throughout the U.S.. Shes appeared from West Hollywoods The Factory all the way to New Yorks Rock Candy for Billboards Annual Dance Music Summit, and just about everywhere in between.
Laurens next single, Dance With You, (due for release in April 2006), is another up-tempo dance song that really explores Laurens playful side. Written by Josh Harris, this song combines contemporary beats and beautiful melodies making it the perfect fun summer song.
Harry Towers of Deet Promotions said of the song:,
Wow! I would put this in my show each and every week! I love the production and the hook is fun, and perfect for late spring into summer radio! This songs a smash hit!
Although Laurens recent success has been primarily in popular music, she has no intention of ignoring her formal theatrical training. After high school, Lauren attended the prestigious Ann Reinking Broadway Theatre Project, where she studied under such luminaries as: Gwen Verdon, Gregory Hines, James Naughton and Dave Clemmons. Thereafter she attended Arizona State University, where she studied musical theatre and dance, and would perform locally at The Phoenix Theatre, The Southwest Shakespeare Co. and The Stagebrush Theatre.
Shortly thereafter, Lauren moved to Hollywood and was able to leverage her talents into several exciting opportunities. She played the lead of Val in the LA production of A Chorus Line, to great reviews and performed in the newest version of Footloose, previewed by Dean Pitchford, as well as appearing in Joseph and the Amazing Dreamcoat at the Kodak Theatre in LA. And perhaps most significant, she made her television debut on NBCs highly ranked show FAME, where she performed as a finalist on the same stage as the great Debbie Allen and Joey Fatone.
Currently, Lauren is being featured in the February 2006 issue of Dance Spirit magazine. The article highlights many of Laurens accomplishments, but also credits Laurens philanthropic nature, as well. Lauren recently set up a scholarship program for aspiring dancers and choreographers, because as she mentions, the performing arts helped shape who I am.
Other recent notable events include: Singing the National Anthem at a Phoenix Suns/New York Knicks game, appearing in ABCs Emilys Reasons Why Not with Heather Graham, an episode of CBSs dramatic series Cold Case, and in the upcoming Billy Bob Thornton movie, School of Scoundrels.
