Federico Mahjong Conti started his life in music at a young age. His father played classical & jazz music on the harp (harmonica) in the late 50's with the HOHNER BOYS, the official Hohner Harmonica quartet winners of several international championship. At the age of 8, Federico studying modern jazz with the famous American organ player Shirley Scott from Philadelphia and with James Williams from NYC for piano specialization. Adding bass, he worked with studio sessions and doing arrangements for orchestras and big bands.

In 1999, DJ Daniele Baldelli introduced Federico into the Italian club culture listening to uk garage and 2 step. Soon after, he began playing and producing live-set with grooves machines & real time sequencing, playing funky-house, 2 step, uk-garage and hip-hop. In 2000, he started to play as a DJ and combined the use of turntables and PCs and sequencing them together.

As his club world was getting bigger, Federico was still tuning his piano and organ talents on his own and working with other jazz artists such as Zucchero Sugar Fornaciari, Benny Golson, Charles Bowen, Lannie McMillan, Mike Stern, Buster Williams, and Mel Gaynor from Simple Minds.

As a musician he has performed at the some of the most important European Jazz festivals, Jazz Image, JVC Newport and We Love Jazz. As DJ and playing live sets, he has played house music in some of the hottest Italians Nightclubs like Fura, Genux, Gasoline, Hennessy, Rock City and Hip Hop in several American Nightclubs as well as inside the NATO Military Bases in Italy.

In 2001, Federico created the production company "Mahjong Music", producing singles, LPs and compilations for various record labels, publishers and television broadcasting networks. Through "Mahjong Music" he has had music released in 24 countries around the world. Today, Federico is spending most of his time in production work than DJing and performing.

In 2004, he became part to the project "Cube Guys", with Intrallazzi (from FPI project) and Luca Provera, producing the Ibiza hit "TE QUIERO" for the Roger Sanchez's label (Stealth Records), which landed in the Top 10 list on the European House Charts as well as working on a single from Kym Mazelle's LP "The Pleasure Is All Mine".

Because of his love for making music, up through 2005, he has produced and sold records for "Airplane! Records" (Usa), "Stealth Records" (Netherlands), "Jinxx Records" (Canada), Nick Holder's "DNH Recordings" (Canada), "M.O.D.A. Music/ Warner Music" (Italy), "Media Records" (Italy), "S2S" (Japan), "David Gresham Group" (South Africa), "KULT" (Usa), "Born 2 Dance" (UK) to name a few.

Also in 2005, "Mahjong Music" partnered up with Mediaset Group, the biggest private TV network in Italy, to launch "Samples Recreation" (www.recreatingsamples.com). Taking famous samples and recreating them for several producers, labels and publishers, making "Mahjong Music" Europes 3rd top company for this service.

In 2005, MAHJONG MUSIC started licensing activity, working as a record label for the 1st time. MAHJONG RECORDINGS beginning catalogue is involved in 3 different genres, Vocal House Music, Chill-Out / Downtempo, Electronica and Crossover Dance Music. As a label, the primary achievements are to do promotion, licensing out new media worldwide and branching out to the new world of podcast selling.

I approached the wonderful world of music when I was a little child, I started singing into church chorus and I followed piano and dance lessons in the town I was born. I started to practice as a Dj when I was 14 years old and few month after I started to collaborate with some Radios in making advertising jingle and as a speaker. Contemporary I worked for a company that produced videos in the section of filming and editing side by side great artist and at the same time I did the extra and protagonist into musical video (Kc Sunshine Band - Pino Daniele - Gianni Morandi and more).
After this experiences I decided to sing for some band that permitted to travel all around Europe, this gave me the chance to became the chorus singer of some famous dance artists and I started to collaborate as producer and as shift worker for dance production, taking part also like author of the songs.

Working as a shift-worker for record companies and I singing in concert both in Italy and all around Europe gave me the experience and the ability to sing in different languages such as English, Spanish, French and German, and to perform in different kind of music such as pop, blues, dance, house, trance and opera.
I take part to gospel concerts side by side great artist like Leona Laviscount ( Harlem gospel singers).I sing in concert organized into theatre and for big convention with differents and famous big band . I collaborated with different famous artists both as soloist and chorus singer, but also as composer. I collaborated and sang for artist like : Zucchero Fornaciari (I’m still singing with him in many concerts around Europe), Ice mc(singer of his last album in 15 tracks), Unconditional, Funky company, Jenny b, Double you(soloist and chorus singer in the last album released by BMG), Tony di barth, Gianni Bini , Roberto Zanetti and so on.
